Prom!

So this is a very, very late post (just like most of the posts on my blog now a days) but at least I've finally got time to sit down and write this. I attended my prom night on the 27th of June and it was such a beautiful night of goodbyes and loads of glitter!

I remember looking forward to prom when i first started secondary school. I loved looking at pictures and when it finally got to my final year of school i was more then ecstatic for prom.

I was the lady in pink with my gorgeous baby pink dress which i got from ebay (for the bargain price of £50)
My petticoat which i got here
My bracelet is Primark (£3)
Necklace and earrings are Miss Selfridge
Shoes and Purse were £50 from a local shoe store in Northampton
Hair Clip here
Glitter i used for my eye makeup and nails here

Here are some pictures:
(bare in mind that most of these are not done with my regular camera so are not as good but they are still pretty photos none the less)

My Nails:

(OPI Elephantastic Pink)

I loved the night so much, it lived up to my expectations and beyond. Writing this now in July i am already reminiscing the memories which i will keep forever.

Born Pretty Store

So this is a long overdue post, i did post these Nail art pictures already on instagram but i am yet to do a full review on them.

I got sent a few items of my choice from The Born Pretty Store

Studs

Firstly, i got sent a wheel with circle, colourful (almost neon) studs.
I used the pink ones to compliment some rose nail art.

I really love these studs, especially the size because they will be versatile.

Flower Water Decals

Something else i chose was these gorgeous floral water decals. I've never tried water decals before so they were quite new to me however i found them really easy to use!

Floral Stickers

I've never used stickers either before and I should because they're so easy to use and provide beautiful looking nail art with minimal effort (if you even count ordering them as effort).

I like the design with these but i'm not sure about the transparency of them. A base coat of polish might work but i would think you would then loose the pattern.

Feather Water Decals

I opted again for some water decals but this time some feather style ones. Again, they were easy to use and I love the design.

Sponges

I often use normal makeup sponges for my nail art but i chose these nail art sponges specifically for doing gradients. They were really easy to use too.

Overall, I love all my products from Born Pretty and they are all cheap (perfect for a frugal nail addict such as myself).

Models Own Sun Hat

Just a quick post again today. I won the new models own Polish for Tans collection so i swatched my favourite first; Sun Hat. A gorgeous bright pink that actually makes you look tan!

I really love this polish and i can't wait to swatch the rest of the collection! Perfect for Summer.

Kimono and Cami LookBook

This was something i was contemplating whether to upload or not. I did this simply as a side project a few weeks ago but have now decided to upload it.

Cami's and Kimono's are a key item for SS/14 and in my video i show you a few ways to style these clothing essentials. I hope you like it:

Let me know what you think; whether i should do more or not?

Update Post

So this is just a quick update post to make up for a lack of posts.
I am currently taking my GCSE's and had my first written exam today, i've already taken my art and textiles exams late March. I've been pretty busy with my revising and I hate having to put blogging and nail art to the side; but this is my future so I have to do it.

I hope you understand, I'll be back to super blogging on the 12th of June! I have some exciting posts for the end of June such as Prom, Sixth Form OOTD's and Wedding nails. Stay tuned.

Catherine Wheel Glitter Gradient

Today i'm using two gorgeous polishes from Models Own, Catherine Wheel which is a stunning gold strand glitter and Coral Glaze from the new HyperGel collection (well not so new now).

I wasn't so keen on Strand Glitter polishes, i'm not overally happy with them still, but I love this one. I usually find that Strand Glitters don't look as good as glitters with lots of different shapes and sizes. However this one does have some different shaped glitter pieces which makes it look better.

Many people ask my how i do my glitter gradients and the answer is layering! Start off with one layer of glitter going the highest you want it. Then once that has dried keep adding more layers of glitter, getting shorter and shorter so at the tip it has the thickest amount of glitter.

Thanks for reading.
QOTD: Strand Glitter; yay or nay?

Zebra Glitter Nails

I've actually not done zebra print nails in forever, so when i saw this design by +JewsieNails i just had to recreate it!

I just love the combination of glitter ,one of my favourite things, and zebra print. The light pink also looks great with it!

QOTD: What is your favourite animal print for nail art?

Brown Glitter Leopard Print

Late Post; Some brown and gold (or bronze?) glitter leopard nails.
I love these! So simple yet just gorgeous. Barry M Lychee is one of my favourite polishes (its the light brown for the base), i use it so often for leopard print; it's perfect.

What's your favourite type of nail art? Mine has to be leopard if you want something simple, easy but beautiful!
